Mijn onderzoek richt zich op de geleefde religie, dat wil zeggen hoe mensen vorm geven aan hun verhouding tot het heilige en hoe ze zich daarin voortdurend verhouden tot de traditie(s) waaruit ze putten. Concreet ben ik met projecten bezig op het terrein van religie en trauma, pastorale zorg, en religie in de populaire cultuur.

• 2001-2008 Associate professor of practical theology (senior level), Kampen Theological University (full time 2001-2005, half time 2005-2007). In 2007-2008 I remained on the faculty to finish a funded research project.
